Since the beginning of this year, I have been feeling really burnt out playing Swtor, but because of 7.0 coming out I continued to play every day. Eventually, I became so sick of grinding for better gear and leveling up my characters I decided to take a break. I meant to only take a month-long break, but as more time passed the less, I felt inclined to log in. I had a few blog posts in the works, including my thoughts on the latest story introduced in the game and I kept putting them off because I knew if I continued blogging, I would feel obligated to log in.
So, for these past few months I have been playing a bunch of single player games. A couple weeks ago I decided to return to Swtor in August. Which worked out because shortly after that the devs made the announcement that the 7.1 update would come out on August second as well as the return of Nar Shaddaa Nightlife, one of my favorite events.
I think the reason I was so burnt out by the game was because I was getting on every day for years and spending several hours playing Swtor almost exclusively. Going forward to prevent this from happening I’m going to shake things up a bit and try not to fall into the same routine of doing the same stuff over and over again. I’m also going to make time to continue playing other games. I may start playing a secondary mmo, maybe Lord of the Rings Online, but I’m not sure yet if I want to do that. Swtor will remain my main mmo as long as it exists but having a second game to fall back to may help keep my enthusiasm for Swtor alive.
I would also like to start logging into the characters I have on the Satele Shan and Darth Malgus servers because at the moment they are collecting dust. I think two of them on Satele Shan are level seventy, which tells you how long it’s been since I’ve been active on that server.
I will be coming out with a review of Legacy of the Sith before 7.1 launches. I just need to go over my notes and refresh my memory and will have it out in the next day or two.
