Swtor’s Guinness World Record

Yesterday I read an article from Massively Overpowered that talked about ten mmos with interesting Guinness World Records. I’ve always been interested in world records and funny laws that make no sense. For example, did you know that Alaska has a law in their books that bans people from fishing while lying on the back of a moose and whistling? It makes you wonder who in the world did that for a weird law like that to be necessary.

I already knew Swtor had a record for the most voiced lines, but I didn’t realize it had three world records. That’s pretty impressive for a decade old game. However, given that Swtor no longer has voiced dialogue for all lines it’s possible that someday, assuming it hasn’t happened already, another mmo will take over. Though Swtor will always be the first mmo to achieve that many voiced dialogues.

Two other games with world records caught my attention on the list and made me wonder if we could apply those to Swtor as well. World of Warcraft has a record for the oldest gamer to collect 850 pets and Runescape has the most virtual fish caught. Obviously, we can’t fish in Swtor, but it did make me wonder what kind of personal achievements there could be that the larger community is unaware exists.

Some of these achievements include but are not limited to who has the largest collection of pets in-game? Does anyone have all the pets in the game? Who was the first to collect all the pets? Who is the oldest gamer to play Swtor? Who was the first to collect all the achievements on steam? Who completed all eight origin stories first? The list of questions goes on. We might never know all the answers to these questions, but it is interesting to think about.
